Details Released In Pcti Football Game Shooting, Teen In Custody

Details have been released in the shooting following a football game at the Passaic County Technical Institute (PCTI) Friday night, Aug. 30.

A 16-year-old has been arrested in the shooting a 15-year-old and 16-year-old around 7:30 p.m. at PCTI school in Wayne, where the football team had faced Lenape High School, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic County Acting Sheriff Gary F. Giardina said.

Police found a 15-year-old juvenile and a 16-year-old juvenile suffering from non-fatal gunshot wounds. Both were taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson. 

The alleged gunman was charged with acts of juvenile delinquency that would constitute the crimes of Attempted Murder, first degree; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, second degree; and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, second degree.
